A Great Start to a New Year
Greetings:
The new school year is underway and Southside's calendar is filled with great events to help increase student achievement and provide opportunities for students, teachers, families, and staff to Synergize in an effort to have the best year possible.
The Southside PTO Executive Board would like to thank you for joining the PTO this year. This year we have had a lot of new families to join and many families to continue their support. If you have not sent in your $5 membership or know another family who hasn't joined yet, it is not too late to spread the word and send in your money.
Below you will find the dates of two upcoming events happening at Southside. We hope you will join us to learn more about math and celebrate reading.
· Tuesday, September 13 - 6:30 - Southside Auditorium - Come out and learn strategies that will help improve your child's success in math. Our presenter will provide examples and lessons that will help all students in various grades.
· Tuesday, September 20 - 6:30 - Southside Auditorium - Don't miss our first PTO event. We will have a short meeting in the auditorium, followed by an opportunity to read an AR book with your child in his or her classroom. There will be giveaways, important information, and much more.
Our first fundraiser has begun. Please help support the school by selling cookie dough to your coworkers, family, friends, and church members. The money raised helps support programs that benefit all students. As the Fall season sets in, here is your chance to have cookies ready for all of the upcoming holiday parties, and as treats for those cool Fall nights.

Southside tote bags are still on sale for only $2. These great blue bags hold grocery, school supplies, or make great bags for library books.
If you would like to buy a Southside Car Decal to show your school pride, they are on sale for only $5. Both items can be purchased from Mrs. C. Bruton.
